FLASH NEWS!!! Famous as “Anti-Instagram”, BeReal has been downloaded 53 million times worldwide
The application lags behind social media giants such as TikTok and Instagram in terms of the number of active users.
Copying the features of Instagram and TikTok, BeReal has reached 53 million downloads worldwide.
According to the information shared by the digital research company Sensor Tower, the download rate of BeReal on Google Play and App Store increased by 2 thousand 254 percent compared to January.
On the other hand, only 9 percent of Android users actively log into the application every day.
The same rate is 39 percent for Instagram and 29 percent for TikTok.
These two applications are followed by Facebook with 27 percent, Snapchat with 26 percent, YouTube with 20 percent and Twitter with 18 percent.
The application stands out with its “spontaneous photo” feature.
As part of this feature, BeReal asks users to take an unfiltered photo showing what they are doing at the moment. In this daily request, the user is given two minutes to take a photo.
The application has become increasingly popular this year, especially among Generation Z, who were born in the late 1990s.
BeReal also provides the ability to take photos using the front and rear cameras of the phone at the same time.
Instagram drew criticism for copying BeReal’s service with the “dual camera” feature it introduced in July.
TikTok was also criticized for imitating BeReal with its “TikTok Now” feature, which it launched in September.
It is not yet clear how lasting the popularity of BeReal, also called “Anti-Instagram”, will be.
