Everything for beauty; It is intended to rejuvenate, smooth, strengthen and model. But what may (not) be in cosmetics so that they can meet these high requirements?
A lot was expected of cosmetics even in the early advanced civilizations: Cleopatra knew about the smoothing effect of baths in donkey’s milk and the attraction of black-rimmed eyes. In the meantime, the products have been refined and are no longer reserved for female pharaohs. There is perfect beauty cosmetics for every age and every skin type. High-dose active ingredient cosmetics, natural cosmetics, medical brands and pharmacy cosmetics serve every need and all trends.
cosmetic ingredients
The ingredients are declared on the INCI list of cosmetics. For the layman, these mostly Latin technical terms are difficult to understand. If you want to know what sodium laureth sulfate or propyl paraben is all about, you can enter the first three letters of the ingredient at www.kosmetik-check.de and then find out whether it is harmful to the body or not. Because one thing is clear: a lot of what promises shine, volume, elasticity, firmness and an increase in charisma in pretty packaging is not without side effects.
Natural trend in cosmetics
Because natural cosmetics manufacturers have been pointing out the effects of parabens, preservatives, perfumes, silicone oils and emollients for years, the cosmetics industry is now switching to nature when it comes to beauty. It will never be possible to clarify whether the ingredients mentioned actually have serious adverse effects on health. Because clinical studies are expensive and time-consuming – who should pay for them? And whether the substitutes that are now being used are really better is also questionable. For example, some manufacturers of hair cosmetics do without ammonia as a color base. However, the dyes that are still used (see also color protection shampoo) still read like a plan of attack on the entire body.
Individual cosmetics
There are two options when dealing with cosmetics: believe without doubt or research. FIT FOR FUN keeps getting to the bottom of promises made by the cosmetics industry, whether it’s wrinkle creams, deodorants, products for sensitive skin or mascara.
